What You Built
Over four lessons, you cleared away everything standing between you and an accurate view of your own child. You set aside the comparison chart and the Mom-group scroll (Lesson 1), caught yourself mid-projection and watched without directing (Lesson 2), learned to tell a gift your child arrived with from a skill someone built in him (Lesson 3), and stripped the judgment words out of your own notes so what’s left is just what actually happened (Lesson 4). What’s left is your Observation Journal: a real, specific, factual record of your actual child, sorted into Came Naturally and Trained, written in language that doesn’t diagnose anything.
Active Comparison
Go find the sealed note from before Lesson 1, the one where you wrote down what you’d currently say about your child’s gifts, interests, and what makes them tick, before you’d done any of this observing on purpose. Open it. Read it against what’s actually in your Journal now.
Don’t just check whether you were right or wrong. Notice what kind of thing you wrote back then, a guess, a hope, a worry, a comparison to another kid, against what’s in your Journal now: dated, specific, behavior-based entries about a real week. Write one sentence describing the difference between those two documents. Not the difference in your child. The difference in how you were seeing before this module, and how you’re seeing now.
Check This Before Moving On
☐ Comparison chart or Mom-group scroll named and set down (Lesson 1)
☐ At least three silent, off-the-clock observation sessions logged (Lesson 2)
☐ Entries sorted into Came Naturally / Trained (Lesson 3)
☐ At least five entries rewritten in neutral, judgment-free language (Lesson 4)
If any box is unchecked, that’s fine. Go back to that lesson before continuing. Module 2 builds directly on top of what’s in the Journal right now.
